Osteoarthritis (OA), often known as degenerative joint disease, is the most common form of arthritis, typically affecting the hands, hips, and knees. It involves the deterioration of cartilage within a joint and changes in the underlying bone, impacting the entire synovial joint, including the subchondral bone, synovium, meniscus, ligaments, and cartilage.
